Well... I'm always a fan of CW's and how he uses his blacks and once again he knocks one out of the park but (dont you hate when you see "but"?) my vote will go to Nate on this one only by a hair as I really really like the layout and the technique. I thought you guys were going for full inks but will have to go back and read to be sure. In any event... Nates I like the best and so my vote will go that way. A very close match up guys. Two distinctive styles worthy of this challenge.

Excellent job from both of you guys! :)

CW- Love the dynamic layout and strong composition!

Nate- Love the finished pencils and the focus on detail!

Ultimately, my vote goes to CW. It just screams Ghost Rider to me a bit more. Everything is in extreme motion and simply oozes pure VENGEANCE!!! :D

*Ka- BOOOOOM*

Don't mind me, that was just my face exploding from awesomeness... This is some sick, sick work here!

Now let's see what I can remember seeing before the afore mentioned face explosion...

CWMax. Great composition, awesome inkwork. Action packed. Extra points for inks and a complete composition. Something looks funky with the head/skull though.

Nate. I thought we were in for something wicked when your new avatar started poping up and I was dead right! Great rendering, tight pencils and I love love the perspective with the right hand way in the forground. That can't be easy. The only critique I can think of is that it'd be nice to see some sort of context or background.

I gotta go with Nate on this one. When I scrolled down and saw that huge hand way in the forground.... super cool.

I love them both. CW, your style seems simplistic to a degree of excellence. It's very engaging and the pose is quite dynamic. Nate you attention to detail is awe inspiring and blows my socks off. And for that reason my vote goes to NATE. ....now to find my socks.

Great illustrations the both of you - each one calls out who you are as an artist quite well. The challenge as outlined was to illustrate the Johnny Blaze version of the character in black/white in any medium. I've been going back and forth on this to make my decision.

nate, you've got a great composition here and its rendered quite beautifully.

CW - love the inks and the full on motorcycle sells the piece as definitely Ghost Rider.

This was a very tough call for me. Both are strong pieces. In the end, CW - your image screams Johnny Blaze whereas nate yours screams Danny Ketch so in the end CW ya get my vote.

you've both done a great job, but my vote has to go with CW.

nate's has nice rendering, but lacks the cool composition that Cw has.

remember people, concept is everything in illustration.

Wow, a dead heat. (Get it? Heh)

Nate, nice work, this would make on hell of a tattoo!

Had to go with CW because he put tires on his piece and I liked the way he suggested speed and roundness with those simple lines.

Both of you should be proud.

Really close -- great work by both of you. Gave the nod to C-Dub because he had the whole bike in there and it looks great.

Hot damn! Glad to see its running so close! Great work CW! hope which ever way this goes there's the chance of a rematch in the future ;)

I deliberatley kept the medium open cause I don't ink myself. I dabble from time to time but I find my best results are with tight pencils darkend a bit in photoshop. Though I am experimenting with digital inking but jurys out on that one for the moment.

Nice to hear the pros and cons compairing them both, some uslefull advice. I maybe should have went with the Ketch version, the angular bike would have played to my strengths a bit more.

Running close nate, but nowhere near complete - the tide could turn in a heartbeat here at Outcast.

Again, congrats to both of you for pulling together such strong pieces for the battle. I'm beyond jealous of your talents.

This one is even harder to choose.

CW- Nice composition with all the elements.
I like how you got the whole bike in.

Nate- Rendering is nice. treatment of the metal especially.
The weakness is in the rendering of the handle bars and such.
Too thin, crooked on some parts.
Having a background and tires would have sold it better for me.

Going with CW on his complete package.
