Yes we get to draw a horse.. for all of us that just don't get enough practice here.

According to the episode "The Legend of Silver" (September 30, 1938), before acquiring Silver, the Lone Ranger rode a chestnut mare called Dusty. After Dusty is killed by a criminal the Lone Ranger and Tonto are tracking, the Lone Ranger saves Silver's life from an enraged buffalo and, in gratitude, Silver chooses to give up his wild life to carry him.

Whenever the Lone Ranger mounts Silver, he shouts, "Hi-yo, Silver! Away!" Besides sounding dramatic, this shout originally served to tell the radio audience that a riding sequence was about to start.

Approximately thirty minutes allowed for this sketch..

The deadline for this sketch is Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 2pm ET (U.S.)!

Wow! I am really glad to see many of you at least trying to sketch out some horses despite the doubt in our skills or abilities. This is actually the reason I chose horses, hoping to see some valiant attempts in a quick sketch manner that we may not even confront with that initial doubt in our skills. B)

I am ashamed! How dare I miss this DSC until now.

It was fun to see how far my horse drawing skills have slipped. No ref though, guess that's something right? 20 mins

And a nice followup Jete, Rachael, and Super-Josh!

Nothing like grabbing some reference and sketching from these. Horse anatomy can be a difficult study.
