Welcome Fight Fans to the slightly late Monthly Melee! This months subject is brought to us by previous winner David Skelaton, and it is ....

Draw a steam punk version of a current hero or villain!

If anyone is not familiar with steampunk its based on Victorian-ish era fashion and technology. As if tehcnology evolved ona tangent to bring us modern machinery based on old tech eg, a steam powered rocket ship, a wind up android. Goggles, corsets, top hats, pocket watches are common place items. So you could have a coal powered Iron Man, a monocled Reed Richards or Corseted Power Girl, have fun with it.

Open to all takers. Deadline is Thursday 24th of May Midnight. Winner chooses subject for July.

Detailed rules http://outcaststudio...nd-orientation/

Here's some examples including a steampunked Cable I did recently.

I will try and find time to do this. On a related note, there was a guy at the Toronto ComiCON that did a pretty awesome steampunk deadpool cosplay. Sadly, I do not have a photo.

Steampunk isn't my strong suit but I'll give it my best shot. :)
Draw because you love it. Hang all the other reasons.

I have never really messed with steampunk, but I thought it may be fun to experiment with it! What a better opportunity than when your reputation and street cred are ON THE LINE! ;)

That's the spirit guys, give it a shot! That Cable pic was my 1st attempt at the genre and I certainly found it an enjoyable and usefull experience.

Feel free to try and recreate it :)

check out my site

One evening, Sir Winston Churchill left a pub, drunk as a skunk. On his staggering walk home he met a woman who said.
"Mr. Churchill! You're drunk!" Churchill rebutted as best he could.
"Yes madam, and you're ugly, but I'll be sober in the morning!" Even when drunk, the man had a way with words.

Anyone remember Neil Gaiman's Mr. Hero? That book would have a much bigger audience these days. Talk about a robot with a mustache!

The name didn't ring any bells, but one google image search later... oh yeah, I remember that guy!
Finished my inks yesterday and started on colours, but there's something screwy on pixlr.com where you can't save layered images at the moment, so lost a couple of hours work. D'oh!
