Wow, nice work you guys! "Ferrous Gentleman," you almost got my vote off that title alone. Well done. I like the concept, and the bottle theme was executed pretty well. I'm a sucker for a reimagined/redesign, and this steampunk Ironman really does it for me. My only "nit-picky," crit is that your mirror is crazy flat. I would have liked to seen some reflection of the light in there. You know that sheen that reflective surfaces have... it really is me just being really picky, because it still works as is. You two have fought some pretty good matches along the way, and may just get that ticket to the next round after all.
It is still a tough call. Batmanners and seb_pinter certainly haven't let up any this round. I think this is one of your best peices this tourney. I've enjoyed many of them, but I like the idea of the bar scene here where you've incorporated the main character's from Preacher. I like the painting/watercolor job on this one. I do have some crits though with both the watercolor and the drawing. The over all figure work is improving, but I think that when it comes to your layouts, you still need to plot/plan things out a bit more. Aside from some perspective issues, there are some areas that don't have much going on in them. I would have liked to see this scene filled with the characters, and less of the background on either the left and right side of your image. You also should experiment with varying line weight some to give some sense of spacing to your work too. It might help with things feeling like they've got some real size to them, and help distinguish the background from your foreground and all the elements in between. Speaking of that... I think that you could have ramped up the colors a bit on the figures, and down played them some on the backround. That also would help set the figures back on the forefront of the viewer's mind. You should also add some highlight colors to your image to help keep the colors from coming off too muddy. Using watercolor can be difficult, but you can always add more color, it is harder to take it away.
With all that said, I still like the effort to put it all on the page in Seb_pinter and Batmanners' image. In the end I like the more ambitious scene, use of traditional medium and character/subject... so I'm voting for BM/SP!
Good luck to both teams. I really think that you all did an amazing job each week with all the challenges. Win, lose or draw you've all shown great character in competing. Also, a round of applause for YNCKE for keeping the teams on task, organizing and just being all around awesome!
